English for PR: Preguntas en entrevista laboral

Algunas de las preguntas más habituales en una entrevista laboral:

 1.  Why did you apply for this job? (¿por qué decidió postularse para este trabajo?)

 2.  Why did you choose this career? (¿por qué eligió esta carrera?)

 3.  Why should I hire you? (¿por qué cree que deberíamos contratarlo?)

 4.  What would you like to tell me about yourself? (¿qué le gustaría contarme acerca de Usted?)

 5.  What are your major strengths? (¿cuáles son sus fortalezas?)

 6.  What are your major weaknesses? (¿cuáles son sus debilidades?)

 7.  What did you like best or least about your last job? (¿qué fue lo que le más y lo que menos le gustó en su trabajo anterior?)

 8.  How does your education or experience relate to this job? (¿qué relación tiene su carrera o su experiencia laboral con este trabajo?)

 9.  What do you hope to be doing in five years? (¿qué desea estar hacienda dentro de cinco años?)

10. What salary do you expect? (¿cuál es su expectativa salarial?)

En las respuestas, debe utilizarse un vocabulario formal. A continuación encontrará algunos ejemplos de frases y términos que pueden emplearse al responder.

To be responsible for = al hablar de responsabilidades, la preposición correcta a utilizar es for. In my previous job, I was responsible for the management of resources.

To manage = administrar, dirigir. To manage resources, a company, a team, staff

to develop =  desarrollar, expandirse. To develop skills, a company, a market, a product, an idea, new ways of doing business.

To coordinate = coordinar. To coordinate with our customers, to coordinate efforts, schedules, agendas.

In response to your ad = respondiendo a su aviso – I have decided to apply for this job in response to you ad because I believe I have the necessary skills you are asking for.

Profile: perfil. The recruiter told him that, unfortunately, he did not fit the job profile.

Candidate: candidato-a . Recruiters interview eligible candidates.
